SALSA CASINO
Many people in
Venezuela know how to dance salsa thanks to a friend or a relative. Salsa casino is another style of salsa dancing. It was born in Cuba and can be danced in couple or in Rueda, that consist in form a circle of couples an interact each other guided for a leader, and sometimes it makes a difference among people who know how to dance salsa this way and those who don’t know.
Salsa casino was born in
Cuba and is a result the mix of meringue, guaguanco, danmzon and even rock an roll. That name CASINO comes because people used to meet in HALLS or Casinos to dance and when the casinos closed the name of this dance style remain.
To Dance salsa this way people can do it in couple or in a RUEDA guided for a leader who sings with sympathy and spice all the turns or figures that will be performed for every couple involved I the dancing. In the Rueda, the dancers have to pay attention to the leader and know well the turns he says. Owing to the changes of partners in a Rueda there must be at least 2 couples (4 people) or more. Most of the time dancing casino in Rueda has a competitive aspect and the group that perform al the turns and steps with fluency and no mistake will be “the winner”
